Building BAAAHS

Incentive Planning

Never in a million years did we think we would be producing an event with a homosexual sheep from burning man, but to keep things sizzling hot you have to be open to new ideas! My super creative client has friends that regularly attend and produce works of art at Burning Man, a yearly festival in the desert. Built on a community of art and sharing that has grown to epic proportions over the years, it’s the “see and be seen place” by all A listers. Their mantra is tenfold.

Burning Man Mantra
Radical Inclusion
Gifting
Radical Self Reliance
Decommodification
Radical Self Expression
Communal Effort
Civic Responsibility
Leaving No Trace
Participation
Immediacy

We embrace a lot of these same ideals. Creating something worthwhile from nothing takes leadership, risk-taking and trust. We trusted our client and his instinct when the process began one afternoon while looking at the run-down white school bus with a pink inside of a sheep in Oakland. A bit skeptical on how we were going to make the whole thing come together, we had to believe in these artists and that our event in the desert wouldn’t be complete without an art car from Burning Man.

The venue Loews Ventana Resort + Spa, Frostings Event Rentals, Upstage Productions and SpotOn all came together with the Burners to get the sheep BAAAHS up and running. We wanted an extraordinary reveal for the guests that would spark conversations and memories for years to come.

The Vice President of Sales conducted the reveal and it was fantastically orchestrated with music and lighting. Once the black cloak covering the BAAAHS was removed, the DJ turned up the music and guests ran to BAAAHS to hop on her roof for a magical view of the Tucson skies or to take a slide of the inside of her body! It was a huge success that seemed at first like a big risk and in the end like a must do.

We are so proud of that day and how one little spark illuminated an entire event and took it to a place that was magical and memorable.
